Guided Tours are created from within YOUR web app. Log into both UserIQ and your web app in the same browser. Navigate to the page in your web app where you want to start the tour. Tours are tied to a URL, if you will be changing URL's you will need to create a separate tour on the new URL and link the tours together.
Click the UserIQ bubble in the bottom right corner of the screen.
The UserIQ sidebar will appear on the right side of the screen.
Click to expand the Tours button and it will display the list of Guided Tours created on that page.
Provide a name and click Add New Tour.
A modal will appear in the middle of the screen, this is the default position of any new step.
Make all the necessary content changes to the tour step and hit Save Step.
For attaching the tour steps to a UI element, click where it says the step name, in this case, "Step 1" to enter Record Mode. Then, click the element on the screen you want to point out, the positioning bubble will now appear by that object. If you want to place the modal on the result of the element click (as long as the URL does not change), click twice on the element to initiate behavior, now you can place the modal on the new section (Again, as long as the URL has not changed).
Also, there are two modes in the Record Mode i.e, Navigate and Select. Select mode is used to select a UI element and Navigate mode is used to navigate to hidden UI elements, for example, all the elements in a drop-down. For more information on Record Mode, please refer to our documentation on Admin Panel 2.0.
NOTE: If the URL changes you need to create a separate tour on that URL and link the 2 tours together.
Use the arrows to orient the modal to the selected element. The Preview will display the modal as it will appear. The Expand will expand the clickable area (red box), so if you were clicking on a CSS button but only the text was selected, you can click Expand and it will select the surrounding area.
Once the position is set, click the DONE icon in the recording mode.
Click the Plus + sign to create the next step. You can also remove a step by clicking the Trash Bin Icon on the tour step.
Follow the same steps above, when you finish adding & positioning all of your steps, click the Save Tour button. This will end the tour.
Switch to UserIQ, from the menu click Campaigns, View Campaigns. Scroll down till you see the Campaign you created, then click the Edit link to the right.
You would then be navigated to our 'Tour Edit' page, where you can configure the Tour Name, URL, Display Options, and Advanced Options.
For learning more about the Display options and Advanced options, please visit Display and Advanced options for Guided Tours.
Once you are done configuring the steps, please navigate to the next step of tour creation - Tour Steps.
Configure each step of the Tour by clicking the step tabs and filling in the Step Header, Step Content, and Button settings.
The Left Button is usually used for End or Back. No Button is a common type for the left button.
The Right Button is usually the action button, typically Next. Take will allow you to use the Named Features list to navigate to a page or external URL (depending on the named feature). Link is used to link to another tour.
Brand your tour by selecting or creating a Theme.
