Named Features
Named Features are a core concept in UserIQ. These are either pages users can access or "events" (like clicking a button, tab or element) that you want to track. They are used to track user behavior, adoption, audiences for campaigns and you can send a user to a page in your app.
If you need to wildcard * part of the URL because some of the URL is specific to an account or user the named feature cannot be used for navigation. In this case, if you want to send users to this Named Feature you can insert the value if you are passing these in the Custom Variables, such as AccountID or UserID. For more information on wildcarding or inserting values see here.
The recommended method for creating Named Features is from within your application using the UserIQ Admin Panel. To access the admin panel click the UserIQ bubble from within your web app see here.
Then click on the Features button
Then click Tag New Feature and a recorder will appear at the bottom of your screen.
As you move your mouse around the page a red outline appears around the elements. Select the element you want to Name by clicking on it. For hover menus or hover elements you can use the keyboard to alternate between Navigate and Select, hold down Option/Alt + S.
Once you've selected the item, click the Done button on the recorder.
Give the feature a name, then click the check mark to the right to save it.
You can also create named features from within UserIQ. Click on the Intelligence menu, Currently Online, and Recent Activity. From this screen click on the feature under the Action column and give it a name.
Managing Features
Click Intelligence, then Named Features. From here you can Star, Edit, Tag, and Delete features. Features are organized by Favorites, Pages, Click Events, and Wildcards (see here).
Favorited Features
Favorited Features would give you an at a glance view of your most important features under the Favorites tab on Named Features page.
You can favorite a feature by selecting the star icon right next to a feature.
To assign a Named Feature from the UserIQ bubble see below (you must be logged into both UserIQ as an admin and your web app in the same browser).
