The recent update showcases significant improvements made to the admin panel. Starting from changing the animation and overall look to adding a great deal of new features, our newest admin panel offers more control than ever before!
Here are few of the most important updates:
1. Incorporating help center links into the admin panel
As you can see, we have incorporated links to our help center documents and submitting a request using the Help and Feedback buttons respectively. You can now access help center and submit a request right through the admin panel.
2. New 'Record Mode'
The way recording a guided tour/named feature/tooltip works has been updated to avoid confusion and facilitate more room by removing the admin panel when in that mode. When you click on tag a named feature/create tooltip/create a tour step, the new record mode emerges from the admin panel. As you can see, it has a red "done" button in the center and two new modes navigate and select. The above animation shows how "Navigate" helps you to reach a hidden UI element (for example, nested elements) and "Select" lets you select that element.
Previously, nested elements within a dropdown would have taken several steps to get the same result.
3. Guided Tour Enhancements
As you can see in the video, we have modified the way our tour steps are organized and added. Once your click on "Create a Tour", it will automatically create a new tour step and takes you to its edit page. You can then make necessary changes and save the step. If you want the step centered, you can simply click on the plus sign on the admin panel.
However, if you would like to tether the step to a UI you'd simply save the step and click on the step name from the admin panel. This will slide the admin panel down as a widget with three options: Navigate, Done, and Select at the center of the page and you're in record mode. You can tether steps wherever you'd like and click "done". This will save the new tour step at the spot that you tethered it to.
As you can see in the video, you can also simply drag and drop to re-order steps and hit the "eye" icon to preview the tour (you can also do it by clicking preview button on publish tab). You also have the ability to set the status of a guided tour to either paused, preview or active by navigating to the "Publish" tab. We are also implementing a "Notes" feature where all the updates made to the tour would be displayed hierarchically, ordered by time of update.
4. Ability to set the status of campaigns within the admin panel
You now have the ability to set the status of Guided Tours or Tooltips right through the admin panel. As you can see from the screenshot above, you can set the status of a campaign to either paused, preview or active right when you create that campaign. This avoids confusion of logging back in to UIQ App to set the status.
5. Ability to view all campaigns on page at once
You can now see all the tooltips/named features in a page at the same time by clicking the "eye" icon right below page name.
6. You can now name pages by navigating to Features and saving the page name
7. Visually aesthetic action confirmations
As you have observed in the previous animations, deleting or making edits to features, tours, tooltips now gives you more evident confirmations.
