Campaign Schedule:
Below are the features of campaign scheduling:
- A campaign can be scheduled to launch at a particular date/time. It can be scheduled on a one-time basis or recurring basis.
- A campaign’s status is Preview when it is created. The campaign is set to Active/Paused based on its schedule.
- Once a campaign is scheduled, it’s status will change from Preview -> Active, if the start date/time matches the current date/time. After it reaches end date/time, it’s status will change from Active-> Paused
- An archived campaign cannot be scheduled.
- If an Active campaign is Paused, its schedule gets deleted. Users will have to create a new schedule if the campaign needs to be activated.
- If the user does not select start/end time of a campaign, the time will default to 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.
- Schedules only apply to Active and Paused Campaigns. Schedules are not applicable for preview or archived campaigns.
- Campaigns that are scheduled, will show up under the ‘Scheduled’ status filter on the campaigns list page.
- All campaign types with the exception of Tours & Tooltips can be scheduled.
Two types of campaign schedule are:
- One-time schedule
- Recurring schedule
Note: All scheduling date/time are local to the user and is pulled from the browser time. This means if the user (in EST timezone) is setting the schedule, the date/time selected corresponds to EST timezone.
- One-time schedule:
- Scheduling is created once and that schedule is used to activate/pause a campaign depending on start/end date/time
- While scheduling, If the end date/time is not selected, it defaults to Dec 30, 2099 11:00pm.
- E.g. if a campaign is scheduled as one-time between
Start date/time: 10/06/2020 10:00 am
End date/time: 10/07/2020 10:00 pm
In the above example, the campaign will be Active from10/06/2020 10:00 am to 10/07/2020 10:00pm. After campaign time reaches 10/07/2020 10:00pm, the campaign will moved to Paused.
- Recurring schedule:
- 3 subtypes are: daily, weekly and monthly
- Daily recurring schedule:
- E.g. if a campaign is scheduled with
Start date/time: 10/06/2020 10:00 am
End date/time: 10/07/2020 10:00 pm
- In this case, the campaign will be Active everyday (10/06/2020 to 10/07/2020) during 10:00am to 10:00pm. Other times during those days(<10:00am & >10:00pm), it will be Paused automatically.
- Weekly recurring schedule:
- E.g. if a campaign is scheduled with
Start date/time: 10/06/2020 10:00 am
End date/time: 10/07/2020 10:00 pm
Days of the week: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
- In this case, the campaign will be Active every week on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday(between dates 10/06/2020 to 10/07/2020) during 10:00am to 10:00pm.
- During other times( (<10:00am & >10:00pm) on those Active weekdays, the campaign will get paused automatically.
- Also, during other weekdays(Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday) during those weeks, it will be Paused automatically.
- Monthly recurring schedule:
- E.g. if a campaign is scheduled with
Start date/time: 10/06/2020 10:00 am
End date/time: 10/09/2020 10:00 pm
Days of the month: 2 to 10
- In this case, the campaign will be Active every month between 2nd(start time = 10:00 am) to 10th(end time = 10:00 pm) of that month(between dates 10/06/2020 to 10/09/2020).
- During other days of the month( (<2 & >10), the campaign will get paused automatically.
Reset Impressions:
- Reset impressions is a feature for a campaign where user can reset all impressions of a campaign on a regular basis.
- E.g. a campaign is set to reset impressions every 7 days. That means, at the end of 7 days, all impressions of the campaign will be deleted.
Impact of Reset Impressions on Campaign scheduling:
- Daily recurring scheduling:
- E.g. if a campaign is scheduled with
Start date/time: 10/06/2020 10:00 am
End date/time: 10/07/2020 10:00 pm
- In this case, if the reset impressions option is enabled with say 7 days, then the users who have already seen the campaign(within 7 days) will be seeing it again.
- E.g. if a site has 1000 users and say 100 of them responded to the campaign within 7 days, then they will again see the campaigns after 7 days.
- Weekly recurring scheduling:
- E.g. if a campaign is scheduled with
Start date/time: 10/06/2020 10:00 am
End date/time: 10/07/2020 10:00 pm
Days of the week: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
- In this case, if the reset impressions option is enabled with say 7 days, then the users who have already seen the campaign(within 7 days) will be seeing it again.
- Monthly recurring scheduling:
- E.g. if a campaign is scheduled with
Start date/time: 10/06/2020 10:00 am
End date/time: 10/09/2020 10:00 pm
Days of the month: 2 to 10
- In this case, if the reset impressions option is enabled with say 7 days, then the users who have already seen the campaign(within 7 days) will be seeing it again.
Important Notes about Campaign Results:
- When using either type of scheduling, if the users are allowed to leave multiple responses (because they are being shown the campaign multiple times), only the latest campaign response from the users will be shown in the results page for the campaign in the UserIQ app (app.useriq.com).
- If you would like to obtain all responses left by each user, you will need to export the campaign results to obtain the data.
- If “reset impressions” has been enabled for the campaign, to obtain the results before the impressions are cleared, it is a good practice to export the results before the campaign reaches the number of days set for “reset impressions” after it has gone live.
