In order to use UserIQ effectively in your Hybrid Mobile applications that use frameworks such as Ionic, PhoneGap, Cordova or Electron, you will need to follow a separate set of steps to successfully integrate UserIQ with your hybrid mobile application and be able to track page views or clicks.
Step 1: UserIQ Integration
To integrate UserIQ with your hybrid mobile application, insert the script from the UserIQ Tracking Snippet (click on the link to obtain the script) into your application's 'index.html' file. When correctly done, this will allow UserIQ to start tracking the PageView Events, Click Events & Campaigns that are triggered in your hybrid mobile application
Step 2: Validating the integration
The best way to validate and confirm that the integration with UserIQ has been successful is by following the below steps;
- Login to the UserIQ dashboard (https://app.useriq.com/) and select the correct site for your hybrid application as seen below -
- Now, navigate to Site Settings → Logs → Event Logs as seen below -
- Once on the event logs tab, as long as clicks and page views have been generated on your app after integrating UserIQ with your hybrid mobile application, you should see page view and click events listed, as seen in the example above. This would confirm that we are receiving the page views and clicks as expected.
Step 3: Creating named features in Hybrid Mobile Applications
For hybrid mobile applications, since they are actually a web-view of the web app, you will need to follow a separate set of instructions to tag click-features, instead of using the screen-tagging functionality available only for traditional mobile applications or the UserIQ admin bubble available for web applications.
