Creating a Launcher
What are Launchers?
When a user clicks on a Launcher, it gives them the ability and option to "launch" any engagement that you have added (as long as the user is part of the segment that you have set). Another cool thing about our Launchers is that engagements within them stay despite being seen by the user - therefore providing them the option to revisit them whenever they'd like!
How do I create a Launcher?
Begin by navigating to Create An Engagement, under Engagements at the top right of the application.
Click the Launcher icon in the top panel.
Select the number of Tabs you would like to have on the Launcher. Learn more about tabbed launchers here!
Name the Launcher under Engagement Name on the left panel and configure it as desired based on the settings mentioned below:
Show Launcher Badge: Enabling a badge on the Launcher will display the number of uncompleted engagements within that Launcher.
Close on Engagement Launch: You can choose to close the Launcher when an engagement is launched from the Launcher by enabling this option.
Use Engagement Segment Filters: This is a very useful option if you would like to show different engagements in the launcher to different audiences (new users/advanced users or tier 1/tier 2/tier 3 users). Enabling this option would respect the audience filters of the individual engagements within the Launcher, and ignore the global audience configuration of the Launcher.
Display on Specific Page: If you would like to display your Launcher on a specific page, please use this option.
Next, you can add Engagements to your newly created Launcher by clicking on the teal Engagements button on the bottom right of the application:
You can then add already existing Engagements to the Launcher tabs by either moving them into the Launcher (moving Engagements would remove them from All Engagements list) or by making a copy.
You can also add an Engagement to the Launcher from the list of current Engagements. Look to the right of the Engagement and click the Add to Launcher.
You can also drag and drop different Engagements within the Launcher to adjust their position within the Launcher.
Next, you will verify whether the Engagements are live or in preview depending on your intentions. The Launcher status takes precedence over the guided tour's audience by default (unless the Use Engagement Segment Filters option is selected during initial configuration), once an engagement has been added to a Launcher.
You can then configure the audience of the Launcher by selecting your Segment.
Once you have verified that everything is good to go, please click Save Engagement to successfully save the engagement.
**Please Note: Be sure to use the same Theme for the Launcher as you are using for your Tours inside the Launcher.
