Creating Named Features
Named Features are a core concept in UserIQ. These are either pages users can access or "events" (like clicking a button, tab, or element) that you want to track. They are used to track user behavior, adoption, audiences for engagements and you can send a user to a page in your app.
How Do I Create a Named Feature?
The recommended method for creating Named Features is from within your application using the UserIQ Admin Panel. Follow the steps below to create a new Named Feature:
To access the admin panel, click the UserIQ bubble at the bottom right corner of the application:
Once the admin panel is open select Features:
After selecting Features click Tag New Feature
This action will open the screen recorder and minimize the Admin Panel. The screen recorder automatically allows you to select the feature you want to turn into a Named Feature. If the desired feature is not visible on the current page select Navigate on the screen recorder. This turns off the selector and allows you to move through your site as normal.
Once the feature is visible click select to re-enable the screen recorder.
Hover over the desired feature and a red outline will indicate what the screen recorder will select. If satisfied by the preview, select the feature.
The outline will become fixed around the selected feature so you can confirm that the entire element was selected. If the whole element was not selected then you can use the expand option to increase the capture area.
Once you are satisfied with the selection click done
The screen recorder will minimize and you can now name your new Named Feature in the admin panel.
Setting up Named Features Within UserIQ
The best practice is to create Named Features using the admin panel in your application. However, named features can be set up within UserIQ. This can be done using the following steps:
Click on the Intelligence in the top right corner of the application, then select Named Features:
Click the teal + Create Named Feature button at top right.
From here you can name your feature and specify what type of Named Feature you'd like to create:
Next, enter the URL of the page you would like to track.
Finally, click Save at the bottom right to save your Named Feature.
